Operatic talk-show / mourning ritual / propaganda lab

description
Between Sirens was the third part of Jeremy Wade’s research cycle on the politics of care. Together with Olympia Bukkakis and Mmakgosi Kgabi, he staged an operatic trio performance that fused TV talk-show, mourning ritual, and laboratory for political imagination. Drawing on earlier formats (The Battlefield Nurse and The Future Clinic for Critical Care), the piece built a speculative world where care has collapsed and survival strategies must be invented in its absence. Music by COOL FOR YOU (Vika Kirchenbauer) and scenography by July Weber shaped the space into a queer-feminist propaganda broadcast for surviving alone in the “complicated now.”
